Qu Lingfeng was the first disciple of East Heretic Huang Yaoshi and father of Sha Gu.
Having discovered a secret relationship between his younger martial brother and sister Chen Xuanfeng and Mei Chaofeng, he would fight against Chen over this and defeat him. Qu Lingfeng's anger came from feeling that Chen Xuanfeng and Mei Chaofeng betrayed their teacher because Mei Chaofeng had once vowed to always stay at the side of her teacher. When Huang Yaoshi found out the reason for the fight between Qu and Chen, he grew furious and subsequently and broke Qu Lingfeng's legs and disowned him.
Qu Lingfeng and his daughter Sha Gu then left the Island. They would arrive and live at Ox Village and Qu Lingfeng, despite broken legs would over the years gather various treasures for his teacher Huang Yaoshi, hoping one day that he would finally be forgiven.
Qu Lingfeng would later die, his body found by Guo Jing and Huang Rong when they found the secret room filled with all the treasure. Huang Yaoshi would later be shown the room by Huang Rong and with regret from what had happened to his eldest disciple, take his disciple's daughter Sha Gu with him.
